After reading several negative reviews about Chez d’Artagnan, I decided to go see for myself. Sometimes, opinions online can be too harsh, and I wanted to give the place a fair chance. As someone who knows Argentine cuisine well — especially when it comes to quality meat — I had hopes that maybe the experience would surprise me.

Upon arrival, the atmosphere was fine and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The service was actually one of the more positive aspects of the evening. Everything was professional and pleasant, which set a good tone to start.

I ordered a beef filet, expecting something special: tenderness, deep flavor, and a proper Argentine-style touch. Unfortunately, what I got was quite average. The meat wasn’t bad, but it lacked character. The taste was flat, the seasoning minimal, and the cooking not exactly what I had asked for. It didn’t have that rich, smoky quality that defines a great Argentine cut. For a restaurant that presents itself with such culinary ambition, the dish just didn’t deliver.

Side dishes were simple and uninspired — nothing that could elevate the overall experience. You can tell there’s potential in the ingredients, but it feels underused or unfinished.

In short, Chez d’Artagnan left me unimpressed. While the team was kind and attentive, the food was just okay — not bad, but certainly not memorable. I walked in curious and open-minded, and walked out a bit disappointed. If you’re looking for a true taste of Argentina, I’d say this isn’t quite it.
