"Disappointing experience – Long waits and a major hygiene issue"
We visited Brasserie Schou for a dinner using the American Express 'Dinner for Two' offer. While the initial welcome was friendly, the rest of the evening was unfortunately a major letdown.
Service & Wait Time: The organization was very poor. We waited 45 minutes just for our starters. To make matters worse, at least three tables that arrived well after us were served their main courses before we even began.
The Food & Incident: While the main courses were okay, the dessert was a disaster. I found a large piece of plastic inside my crème brûlée. The manager actually saw me pull the plastic out of my mouth and immediately took it to the kitchen in a napkin.
Management’s Response: The response was very underwhelming. The only solution offered was to replace the dessert, which I refused. For an establishment of this standing, I expected a proper apology or a commercial gesture to compensate for both the 45-minute delay and the foreign object in my food.
It is a shame because the setting is lovely, but the lack of professionalism and basic hygiene standards made for a very frustrating evening.
