During our road trip through the beautiful Gaspé Peninsula, we spent a night at Motel Caleverre, located at 121 Boulevard Renard Ouest, Gaspé. This small, family-run motel turned out to be a charming and peaceful surprise, just what we needed after a long day of travel. We were looking for a quiet, accessible place close to the region’s natural landmarks—and Motel Caleverre delivered exactly that.
The atmosphere was simple and welcoming, far from the impersonal feel of large hotel chains. We were greeted kindly upon arrival. With just a few rooms available, the environment felt intimate and relaxed. Our room was modest but clean and well-maintained, with a lovely view of the surrounding mountains that added a peaceful, natural touch to our stay.
One of the major advantages of this motel is its location, especially for nature lovers and explorers. Forillon National Park is only about 20 kilometers away, making this an excellent base for hikes or coastal adventures. The town center of Gaspé is also easily reachable, allowing for a balanced mix of nature and local culture.
We also appreciated the free private parking, which is always helpful when traveling by car, and the presence of a small on-site bar, which provided a nice way to unwind at the end of the day. The motel is fully non-smoking, which we found very pleasant.
In short, while Motel Caleverre is not a luxury hotel, it impressed us with its simplicity, peaceful surroundings, and excellent location. It’s a great choice for travelers looking for a quiet, clean, and affordable place to stay while exploring the Gaspé region. We’d happily recommend it to anyone passing through.
