Péniche Guilde

After the vertical scale of the Sandettié, the Guilde is a total change of pace. It sits low, almost level with the quay. This isn't a sea-going vessel; it’s a pure 20th-century river barge, a "Freycinet" built for the narrow canals.

The Family Living

Inside, it’s a lesson in survival. This wasn't just a cargo hold; it was a family home. You can walk through the wood-paneled "cambuse" where everything is miniaturized. It shows the hard, repetitive life of the "mariniers" who spent months hauling grain and coal through the locks.

Manual History

No museum polish here. The engine room is cold steel and grease. Thanks to the local volunteers, the wheelhouse still looks operational, with its massive wooden helm and simple gauges. It closes the "Three Ships" circuit by showing the unglamorous, hardworking backbone of the regional economy.
