Remorqueur Entreprenant
The Entreprenant is the starting point of the floating gallery, and it’s a local through and through. Built right here in Dunkirk in 1965, this tugboat spent thirty years manhandling massive cargo ships into position. It’s a powerhouse of riveted steel designed for one thing: raw pulling power.
Industrial Soul
Stepping onto the bridge feels like a direct jump into 1960s industrial life. No digital screens—just heavy levers, analog gauges, and a massive wheel. You can head down into the belly of the ship to see the engine room, which still smells of oil. It gives you a real look at the cramped, noisy conditions the crew dealt with daily.
Working Heritage
What stands out is the lack of "tourist fluff." Since it’s often quieter than the big three-masters, you can actually take your time in the narrow corridors. It’s a functional, blue-collar piece of history that shows the side of Dunkirk that actually built the city’s wealth—the hard work of the tug crews.
