Chiche Bonnevoie:

"Great Vibes, But the Food Plays It Too Safe"

If you’re hanging around Bonnevoie and need a spot that feels alive, Chiche usually hits the mark with its colors and that specific Middle Eastern energy. It’s got that cool, recycled-decor look and an open vibe that makes you want to sit down and stay a while.

I went in for lunch and ordered the chicken shawarma wrap. To be honest, I was looking for that hit of Levantine spices—that authentic, punchy fragrance. What I got instead was basically a standard kebab. Don't get me wrong, the meat was fine and cooked well, but the flavors were just... safe. It lacked the soul and the kick you expect from a real shawarma. It was a bit too "middle of the road."

The service also had a bit of a communication gap. It was only after I’d finished that I found out I could’ve swapped the wrap for a salad side. Nobody mentioned it when I was ordering, and it wasn’t clear on the menu. It felt like a wasted opportunity to try their fresh sides, which is frustrating when you’re looking for a more balanced meal.

That said, you can’t fault the atmosphere. It’s laid-back, bright, and genuinely welcoming. Even with the lunch rush, the staff were great—smiling, chatty, and actually present. They bring a human touch that you don't find everywhere else.
