Musée Ducal
The Musée Ducal is housed in an 18th-century residence built for the counselors of the Dukes of Bouillon. The mansion sits on medieval foundations and serves as a preservation site for the history of the Duchy of Bouillon. It represents the civil architectural style of the Ancien Régime in the Semois valley.
Crusader Legacy
The permanent galleries document the history of the First Crusade and the role of Godfrey of Bouillon. The collection includes 11th-century weaponry, medieval artifacts, and archaeological finds from the castle's site. It traces the military and political evolution of the Bouillon fortress from the Middle Ages through the Renaissance.
The Enlightenment Press
A primary feature of the museum is the collection dedicated to the "Société Typographique de Bouillon." During the 18th century, Bouillon became a center for the printing of banned Enlightenment literature. The museum preserves the original printing presses used to publish journals and texts that challenged French censorship laws.
