Church of Saint-Malo

The Church of Saint-Malo is Dinan’s architectural powerhouse. Started in 1490 under the patronage of Duke Francis II of Brittany, this massive granite sanctuary is a textbook example of Flamboyant Gothic design, reflecting the wealth and ambition of the medieval city.

A Forest of Granite

Inside, the church is all about soaring height and light. Huge granite pillars support intricate vaulted ceilings, while the tall windows are filled with magnificent 19th-century stained glass. These windows tell the story of the Duchy of Brittany, turning the nave into a colorful history book for every visitor.

Acoustic Perfection

Known for its sublime acoustics, the church is one of the premier concert venues in Brittany. Whether it's the roar of the organ or a quiet choral performance, the space amplifies sound with incredible clarity. Outside, the quiet, moss-covered cemetery offers a peaceful buffer from the busy medieval streets.
