Even though we’re in Germany, we decided to extend our getaway… destination Asia! And it’s in the heart of Düsseldorf, at Dim Sum Gourmet Restaurant, that we embarked on a true culinary journey—no plane or suitcases needed.
There, everything is homemade, and you can feel it from the very first bite. We chose several specialties to create a meal rich in textures and flavors.

We started with steamed rice dough dumplings filled with shrimp and bamboo—four pieces of remarkable finesse. The dough was thin and slightly translucent, revealing the savory filling inside. The shrimp were tender, the bamboo added a delightful crunch, and the whole thing melted in your mouth.
Next, we had two steamed buns (baozi), perfectly fluffy, stuffed with well-seasoned pork. These warm, slightly sweet buns held a juicy, comforting filling. It was a true moment of comfort!
We also tried six fried dumplings filled with pork and vegetables. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, they struck a perfect balance between indulgence and lightness. The cooking was expertly done: golden but never greasy.
To finish, we shared a dish of wide stir-fried rice noodles with sliced beef and bean sprouts. It was generously portioned, fragrant with soy sauce, and perfectly seared in the wok, giving it that irresistible smoky flavor. The beef was tender, the vegetables stayed crisp… a real delight.
What stood out most was that each dish had its own personality, its own textures, and everything was perfectly balanced. No need for excessive sauces—the flavors spoke for themselves.
The service was quick and discreet, and the place was simple but clean, focused on what matters most: the taste.
Conclusion:
At Dim Sum Gourmet, it’s Asian cuisine in its most authentic form. You eat well, you travel through flavors, and you leave with a smile on your face. A must-visit address in Düsseldorf, whether for a lunch break or a savory dinner.
